Sunday, May 8th is Mother's Day!
If you are blessed enough to still be able to call, write, or go see her, do! I still do love this nice yard too! I Visit every chance I get! I will save the view from the front porch (to the right of this photo) for a retro Sunday. Simply breathtaking! If you need to see a "mill town" I have it in spades.
I am very lucky in that I can still go there and remember! (I will not talk about the making of apple butter under a open fire or killing of hogs at this place yet). I do miss the mountains! It is time to go back this summer if I can.
Too many groundhogs were killed here to count. My father was running the Winchester so well I thought he was a god. So many catfish caught with my grandmothers "catfish dough" that tasted so wonderful under her ministrations with the wood stove.
And my mother was there always. And Ma can still whip out a egg sandwich that will make you drool and put your blood pressure up 20 points. Easy. But she is not sharing the secrets of the craft. I have asked.
Don't Forget!
